17 Jul Eurobike Show Roundup
We’ve just wrapped up our attendance at the world’s largest bicycle trade show, Eurobike, in Friedrichshafen, Germany and what a show it was! Read on for a quick roundup.
This year, Eurobike broke from tradition with a decision to bring the show forward in the year, holding it between 8-10 July at Messe Friedrichshafen, set next to the beautiful Lake Constance. The 27th edition of the show saw 1,400 exhibitors from around the world travel to Germany, as well as a record-breaking 100 brand-new companies making their debut at the show, and with over 37,000 industry professionals from 96 countries in attendance it’s safe to say it was a VERY busy event!
At this year’s Eurobike we presented a varied mix of bikes which included some of our familiar 16” & 20” models such as the vertical folding Qix, EEZZ D3, and classics such as the Mu D9. But, it wouldn’t be a show if we didn’t add something new to the mix and this came in the form of a range of brand-new models that each had their own special take on compact portability and storability.
Once again, our forthcoming gravel bike, GB-1, gained a lot of attention from visitors at the show as it stood proud on the booth. Featuring aggressive low gearing, the GB-1 makes riding on unfamiliar roads a breeze, meaning you can embark on adventures in the moment without a second thought. Its all-road 650B fat tires will glide over rough terrains, keeping the ride smooth and enjoyable.
Joining the GB-1 were three mid-motor electric bikes, two of which were paired with a Ciao and Mu frame and the third configured on the 16” NuWave, our brand-new model and folding technology. The NuWave has been designed to fold in a matter of seconds into our smallest package yet measuring just 15cm wide. This is achieved via the folding stem, seatpost, handlebars, cranks and pedals, meaning the frame remains as a solid non-folding unit that can be pulled along or conveniently tucked into narrow spaces. The battery on this model is neatly concealed within the frame, and the total weight of the bike is 15.2kg.
Eurobike is a real highlight of the year for us here at DAHON and it was great to catch up with our partners from around the world as well as meet with industry friends. To see more photos from the show, head over to our Facebook page.
