26 Jun DAHON Sponsors 2nd World Cycling Forum and Presents New Practical Ideas on Shared Bike Programs
Leading folding bike brand, DAHON, has just sponsored the 2nd World Cycling Forum held on the 4th and 5th June in Rotterdam. DAHON Founder and CEO Dr. Hon joined the forum with a short video to present ideas on expanding the benefits of shared bike programs around the world.
The biennial World Cycling Forum brings together key figures and experts from the bicycle industry to share their knowledge on subjects such as the future manufacturing landscape, sustainable processes and technology, and innovative materials and practices. Speakers at the forum organized by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry and Bike Europe included Dr. Will Norman, Walking & Cycling Commissioner for the Mayor of London, Manual Marsilio, General Manager of the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry, and Denis Pennel, Managing Director, World Employment Confederation.
Held on the SS Rotterdam, a former cruise-liner, the first day of the forum saw speakers present many ongoing ideas on the future of mobility in urban areas, sustainability in the cycling industry and the role of cycling in our global cities.
In his video, Dr. Hon touched on DAHON employing its NuWave technology, and storage cabinets with a matrix of smart lockers, and how these can answer the many challenges faced by traditional shared bicycle systems used around the world – especially city space and operational cost. A 14% ROI is conceivable. “With this handy, clean, and cost-effective system, multimodal transportations are suddenly given new hope and possibilities for a greener and friendlier future”, Dr. Hon commented.
As part of its continued mission to contribute to raising the global profile of cycling, DAHON places great importance on investing in industry events bringing together key players from the industry, as well as driving progressive ideas, and was pleased to support the event as the Gold Sponsor.
