Dahon Conference Wraps Up in Cologne

Not all of our valued partners in Europe were able to make it to our Dahon International Distributor Conference in Kuala Lumpur, so to ensure all of the global Dahon team got the benefit of this annual meet-up, we decided to hold an additional conference in Cologne, Germany. Special thanks to our distributor for Germany, Comus for all their assistance and for hosting the event at their offices.

From June 20th to 21st, heads of Dahon’s product design, marketing, and sales teams presented the latest 2014 folding bike samples, product innovations and marketing plans for the coming year. Eddie Eccleston opened proceedings on Thursday, with good time allowed for attendees to experience the all-important test riding. For this conference particular focus was given to the importance of demonstration and education on how to fold Dahon bikes. This culminated in a speed-folding competition with the compact, vertical folding, Jifo 16. Winners were Jan Teigelhoff of Germany’s Bike & Co in just 3.8 seconds and our own Dennis Hu with a folding time of an amazing 2.2 seconds! Despite less than ideal weather for the start of the season, the outlook for Dahon in the European market is sunny.
