20 Feb DAHON Partners With Ford on an Extensive New Line of Bicycles
New range of Ford bicycles to be shown at the Taipei Cycle Show
Duarte, California, February 20, 2014 – World leader in folding bicycles DAHON has partnered with Ford Motor Company to create a complete range of standard and folding bikes utilizing DAHON’s innovative technologies and drawing inspiration from classic and contemporary Ford vehicles. Select models from the range will be showcased at the 27th Taipei International Cycle Show in Taiwan from March 5 to 8. The full range will be available at retail in Asia and the USA later this year and will expand to other markets in 2015.
The first teaser glimpse of this new product line will be at Asia’s leading industry bike show in Taipei in March with a full launch scheduled for later this year. DAHON will host a booth (No. LL002) on the fourth floor of the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall exclusively dedicated towards the new Ford bicycle range and featuring a selection of the top models. Initial interest in the new range is positive, with reviews currently underway for potential distributors to organize sales to retailers in their individual markets.
Inspired by Ford design, the bikes will translate the excitement of Ford to two wheels, with each bike featuring a theme. Subject to market availability, the Mustang for example will be based on speed and style, imitating the original ‘pony car’, whilst the F-150 SVT Raptor will come with extra wide tires for off road riding with comfort and traction. Additionally, these bikes will also include specialized technological features for performance and convenience, such as the ability to change shape from 3D to 2D for space saving when not in use.
The Ford licensing agreement also includes e-bikes as well as bike accessories such as helmets, repair equipment and apparel. These products will continue DAHON’s engineering design focus of performance plus convenience.
