DAHON Releases New Models for 2015

Duarte, California, – DAHON, the world leader in folding bicycles, brings several new high-performance models from the drawing board to the cat walk. Constantly refining designs and features in order to improve their models, DAHON turns loose the Curl, Clinch and Ciao Electric, EEZZ 3 Speed, the Qix, and a full-sized commuter the Cadenza D27. These stylish new models will be available at retail in 2015.

The Clinch is one of the lighter, more robust full-sized folding bikes on the market. It utilizes DAHON’s Lock-Jaw hinge technology providing rigidity, and DAHON’s new patent-pending inverted handle post design to save weight. This also helps to create a stiffer steering system. The Clinch features a 10-speed SRAM Red drive train, FSA SLK BB 30 crankset, and DAHON’s exclusive quick-release pedals, which all contribute to sharp shifting with extremely light components. Carbon 451 wheels with sealed cartridge hubs and Schwalbe tires round out one of the faster folding bikes.

The Qix takes the design advantages of two 16” bikes, the Jifo and the EEZ, and applies them to a 20” bike, creating a ride with a larger seating position and range. Vertical folding technology allows the Qix to roll directly into a folded position with a minimum of effort and time. A rear carrier with an in-built guide wheel allows it to roll easily along when folded. Finally, an 8-speed SRAM drive train and DAHON’s micro dual Pivot caliper brakes get you where you need to go quickly and safely.

Combining DAHON patented folding technology, a low-step through the frame, and a TranzX pedal-assist e-system creates the Ciao Electric. The removable battery pack tucked into the frame enables cyclists to ride with or without power assist, while the Sturmey Archer 5-speed internal drive train allows them to tackle all types of rides with ease.

The Cadenza D27 is a full-sized commuter in a secret agent disguise kit.  The design incorporates the use of the Flatpak which is the easiest, fastest way to stow a bike.  No tools are required, the user-friendly stem allows the handlebar to rotate 90°. The brake levers are exceptionally thin and the release levers respond to a flip of the wrist. Paired with one of DAHON’s patented folding pedal designs, you get a bike that goes from 3-D to 2-D in minutes, storing almost completely flat. The narrowest space becomes your bike’s “garage”, with no one getting caught on protruding parts, pedals, or handlebars.

The EEZZ 3 speed builds on the previous EEZZ model’s best features, updating them for the 2015 model. Folding and storing this bike is as ‘easy’ as the name suggests with DAHON’s Jiffold folding technology. As with the previous model, this bike also features a streamlined premium Dalloy Hydroformed frame with concealed hinge, along with custom-designed narrow wheels and drivetrain. The addition of a 3-speed Shimano compact rear derailleur and a customer twist shifter with an indicator increases the bike’s range.
