03 Jul Irish Adventurer to Conquer Six Peaks with DAHON Folding Bike
Duarte, California, July 2, 2013 – DAHON, the world leader in folding bicycles, has teamed up with Irish adventurer and cameraman, Leon McCarron, to support him in his quest to climb six of the highest peaks in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. The Irish adventurer and cameraman will use a DAHON Mu N360 to ride the distance between the peaks and then strap it to his back as he scales the mountains.
The 160 km biking, 80 km hiking, and 1,800 climbing meter expedition begins on June 29 and concludes on July 19, and covers the peaks of Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland, Carrontoohill in the Republic of Ireland, Snowdon in Wales, Snaefell on the Isle of Man, Scafell Pike in Cumbria and Ben Nevis in Scottland.
“This climb is a regular challenge for adventurers, but no one has ever done it with a folding bike,” says McCarron. “I think that bicycling is simply the best way to travel; you are fully immersed in your surroundings and you really get to take in the whole experience. With a folding bike, it goes anywhere you go, which makes it perfect for this type of adventure.”
