DAHON designers head to Taiwan

Another ‘must do’ event in the bicycle industry calendar opens today. Taichung Bike Week takes place over the next three days and DAHON’s design and engineering team, led by Curt Davis and Greg Blake, are there to glean the very best of what Taiwan has to offer.

A more low-key affair than most shows, exhibitors are exclusively Taiwanese OEM (original equipment manufacturer) suppliers, setting up shop over three neighboring hotels. DAHON‘s Director of Product Development Greg Blake explains: “Taichung bike week is the perfect timing for product managers to meet with vendors, see the latest in technology, and to discuss the upcoming production season. It is a small, intimate show focusing on Taiwanese innovation.” Instead of vast halls and grand booths, TBW is structured more around pre-booked meetings with existing and potential parts manufacturers. We may look to fine-tune components we already use or seek out that next piece of technology that would perfectly complement our folding bike range (as in the Mu N360 or Mu Rohloff). As November sets in, it pretty much marks the end of the show season. Components sourced this week may just make their way into the exciting, new DAHON lineup at next March’s Taipei Cycle Show.
